Sexual Violence Support
Safe Harbor
Offering no-cost counseling, emergency shelter, court advocacy, and hospital accompaniment for survivors of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking to Henrico County residents. Services are offered in English and Spanish.
Not a resident of Henrico County? Check out the YWCA (Richmond City + N. Chesterfield); Hanover Safe Place (Hanover County); Goochland Cares (Goochland and points West); Thrive VA (Counties of Caroline, Charles City, Hanover, King and Queen, King George, King William, New Kent, Spotsylvania, and Stafford as well as the City of Fredericksburg and the Town of West Point) and James House (S. Chesterfield + Tri-Cities area) for similar services.
National Sexual Assault Hotline
Provides short-term crisis intervention and support, answers to questions about recovering from sexual assault, and resources to assist with the reporting process via hotline or chat.
Please note, there are only 2 hospital systems in the Richmond area that have forensic teams to respond to, and collect evidence from, sexual assaults: VCU and Bon Secours. VCU and St Mary’s also have advocacy programs for survivors: VCU Health has Project Empower, and St. Mary’s has SMART (in collaboration with Safe Harbor). If you choose to use an advocate, they will support you through the processes of the forensic exam as well as talking to law enforcement.

Another Round Another Rally
Legal aid, mental health support, job search assistance and financial assistance for women, femme and non-binary hospitality workers who have been victims of gender or racial based discrimination, harassment or abuse in the hospitality workplace.
American Bar Association
Online pro bono program that matches low-income clients with volunteer lawyers, who agree to provide brief answers online for free.
